about
pijja kids was born out of the impending arrival of our baby boy from korea. as a korean adoptee myself, the process has made me intensely curious about my cultural background and i wanted to start a company that showcases unique kids style around the world, highlighting korean brands, of course. the emphasis will be on high quality children's clothing 0-6T with a focus on great design from independent korean labels and upcoming korean designers.
my mission is to scour the globe and bring the cutest of the korean cute, while also celebrating diversity in families. i believe it's that diversity that connects the world and makes it a better place. although our family isn't unique, it is less common. and we'd like to share our experience as parents AND adoptive parents through the pijja kids brand and its myriad digital footprints.
curating an online boutique with an editorial eye which has been honed at a world-renown design school and years spent in the fashion departments of publications like self and glamour is a fun way to share all that's korean and cute with other curious families around the world.
where does the name pijja kids come from?
i wish i could say the name has a significant meaning. the truth is, when i went back to korea for the first time since i was born there, i loved that koreans pronounce pizza as piJJa. it summed up the cuteness that is both korea and what i wanted the pijja kids brand to represent and also reminded me that cute comes in all languages.
